The North

  • Regular price £17.95

Greek wines are having a bit of a moment. If you’re not familiar with them, this is a great introduction. It’s made of Assyrtiko, one of Greece’s finest white varieties, and grown by the maverick Boutaris family in Amyndeon in northwest Greece, one of its coolest regions. It’s a grape with keen acidity that conjures flowers and rocks before fruits.

Tasting NotesA lovely aromatic display between fruit, flowers and minerals. Flavours of satsuma, green apple and fresh green herbs. Good sense of intensity and concentration, but no heaviness. Very drinkable, fresh and well balanced. Assyrtiko is never easy to describe, but this invokes the windswept, rocky landscape that produced it.
