`Doble Pasta` Manchuela Garnacha Tintorera

  • Regular price £18.95

Cut most red grapes in half and you’ll notice they have clear flesh; the colour is just in the skins. Garnacha Tintorera is one of the very few grapes that have red flesh too, and it makes for very dark wines. ‘Cien y Pico’ means ‘a hundred and something’, referring to the age of the vines. They grow 1,000m above sea level between Alicante and Madrid and receive very little rain, making for intensely concentrated, deeply satisfying wines.

Wine CategoryPowerful, ripely fruited, oaky reds

Tasting NotesSappy and resinous forest berry fruits with plenty of impact on the palate. There's a touch of cherry cola and cinnamon from the oak ageing on the palate, with good acidity and some pliable, denim-textured tannins. Smooth, harmonious and full of fruit, this is a real crowd-pleaser.
